Bodice Fitting
Time: 5 minutesThe fitting is so important. The bodice needs to be snug, snug. Some dancers have never worn such a snug garment. There are times they don’t realize their body language works against the fitting process. We show you how to talk to your dancer and hopefully help you to relax and not get too nervous if the bodice seems too snug in the initial fitting.

Boning Install
Time: 11 minutes¼’ Spiral steel bones are cut to lengths needed and tipped. If you use the ½’ plastic bone for the front seam, we cut and shape the bone. Casings can be stitched down or left open for easy removal of the bones during the embellishing stage.

Bars and Elastics Straps
Time: 4 minutesAlmost done! Hooks and bars are marked and machine stitched in place. Elastic straps are then stitched and the bodice is rechecked to the measurements of the dancer.

Finishing the Top Edge
Time: 4 minutesPiping a bodice edge is the easiest and cleanest way of finishing a bodice. The bias allows the fabric to curve and give just a little. The piped cord looks fancy and does double duty to hide the attachment stitches to the basque when you stitch in the ditch. The piped edge can be hand stitched on the backside of the bodice or machine top stitched.
